What’s up, everyone? I hail from Indianapolis, Indiana. Although we’re known for our farmland and the notorious Indy 500 auto race, we have a pretty dope scene of innovative creatives in the inner city. From music, to art and fashion, Indy serves up quite a bit of inspiration, and I hope to share a bit of the culture throughout my internship this semester.
My name is Destiny Taylor. I’m a junior studying Public Relations, Digital Media and Theatre Design at Ball State University. Outside of the classroom, I’m a blogger and singer/songwriter. All things beautiful and captivating fascinate me. This is my second semester as a Style Guru with CollegeFashionista and I’m excited to see how this one proceeds.
My personal style is my favorite platform of expression. I dress according to my mood and whatever inspires me, so my style is ever-changing. I like to wear whatever makes me look good and feel good. At the moment, I’m inspired by simplicity. There’s such a seamless beauty in essential pieces.
Today is my first day of classes, so I decided to spice things up a bit. The heart of my look is my patterned halter-top from Forever 21. I love this piece so much! The burgundy and crème really complement my ebony complexion, and the cut of the top suits my figure. I’m wearing my favorite black jeggings from American Eagle Outfitters, and I cuffed the legs. To jazz up my outfitm, I’m rocking a pair of ’90s-inspired platform sandals, a fringe faux leather bag and a straw hat my best friend gifted me.
