STYLE GURU BIO: Clare Maurer

It’s crazy to think that this is my last semester of college—that after 12 years in schooling, my education is coming to a close. The clock is ticking down, with just a few months left at my favorite place in the world. It’s time to end senior year with a bang, and that means by stepping up my style before I step out into the real world.

For balancing classes, an internship in the city, and all the other clubs and organizations we’re involved in, an outfit that can last you all day is a must. For me, that means always wearing my go-to black booties, that are comfortable enough for strolling through campus, but can give an everyday outfit enough kick to last through the evening.

No one should be without a pair of reliable dark wash skinny jeans. I take my American Eagle pair from class and to the clubs. I always look for the best of both worlds with tops—something super comfortable, but with a fun accent or detail to make it stand out. This lace-up top from Express is the solution to both of these goals. During the chilly start to the spring, a faux leather jacket is the perfect juxtaposition to the soft pink of my top. To give any outfit a bit of sparkle, my Alex and Ani bracelets allow me to represent symbols that I love, without the weight of a heavy charm bracelet. A couple rings from Pandora put the icing on the cake of this wearable outfit.

As a new semester begins, we should all be taking risks, whether it be by wearing something we’re not sure we can pull off, or by crossing something off our bucket lists. 2017 holds endless possibilities, so let’s make this year and this semester the best one yet.
