STYLE GURU BIO: Carolyn Novey

Hey there all my Fashionistas! Welcome to my page! My name is Carolyn. I am so excited to be apart of the CollegeFashionista team for the fall semester. This is my second term of being a Style Guru! I was part of the summer internship program. I absolutely loved it! I will be a junior at West Chester University this fall. I am can’t wait to share my fashion tips with everyone.

I have worked in the retail industry since high school. I work at a boutique that carries Free People and Alex and Ani; two of my favorite brands. When it comes to some of my friends, I am their consultant for fashion. I love helping and shopping with them because it gives me new ideas as well with my style.

I wanted to be a Style Guru again because this is my first semester at West Chester and I thought it would be super fun to show CollegeFashionista the Fashionistas of West Chester! Another reason why is because fall is right around the corner! Everything about it I love. Obviously the cooler weather brings the sweaters, the booties, the scarves; just every piece of fall clothing I am in love with! When it comes to the cooler weather, big sweaters are a must-have for me. They can be worn comfy or dressed up. To me they are a key piece in any fall wardrobe. I have been all over Pinterest and different fashion blogs to see the upcoming trends for the fall season and I must say I have not been disappointed.

For my look, I really wanted to show the transition from the end of summer into early fall. I paired my favorite Free People color denim jeans with a simple black T-shirt. Colored denim is very on trend this season. Some people think colored denim is difficult to wear with pieces of clothing. Me on the other hand, I think it is so fun and easy! To add some chic to my look I tied a denim shirt around my waist. This is perfect if you are wearing an outfit from day to night because the weather gets cooler as the night goes on. To finish off my look, I wore my favorite and new black motto booties. I am currently obsessed with booties and for the fall season they are my go-to. With the accessories for my look, I have jumped on the choker trend. At first, I didn’t know how I felt about it. But lets just say I have plenty of them and I am loving the trend. A little advice if you don’t have one, get on that because they are a absolute must for fall!

Being a Style Guru is amazing! I am looking forward to this semester! Stay tuned for more fun fall fashion!!
