Hello, Fashionistas! I hope you enjoyed your well-deserved summer break. As we all know, all good things must come to an end. However, that does not mean that great times are not coming our way. We all have things we are looking forward to this semester. Before I share that with you, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Camila Davalos and I’m originally from Monterrey, Mexico. I’m currently on my way to resume my studies at the University of St Andrews. I’m a business student and I’m planning on taking international relations and economics as my minors.
I’m really excited to go back to Scotland this year. For personal reasons, I had to go back to my hometown for a while. So, I’m extremely excited to see my friends and get to work on my CollegeFashionista internship. This is my third time being a part of the CollegeFashionista team and I love it! I’ve learnt so much about the industry and dramatically improved my writing skills. If you are passionate about fashion, I would highly recommend that you apply for next semester’s internship. You will have full support of the editorial team and you’ll have an amazing time! I also have another exciting thing going on this semester. Thanks to my fellow Style Guru Shanda Koop, I have the chance of writing for the travel section of one of St Andrew’s student magazines called The Tribe.
To start the fall semester, I wanted to wear an outfit that stood out and embodies the trends of the moment. I decided to draw some inspiration from a Dsquared2 look from their pre fall collection. The look I was inspired by consisted of a red and black tribal skirt with a long sleeved top. I wanted to have a look that was appropriate for a casual setting but with a bold edge. I decided to wear a pair of American Eagle Outfitters ripped jeans, a white cami and a fringed floral kimono. Also, I wore back wedges and I added red Coach leather satchel. I don’t regret picking this outfit as one of my last ones for the break. This photo was taken the day before I left for university. So, it was a good choice for meeting people in restaurants and saying goodbye.
I have one piece of advice before I’m done with this post. Enjoy this semester! Try something new. It does not have to be just in fashion. You could also plan fun trips with your friends and visit places you’ve never been before. Life is too short to not enjoy every single minute of it! Make this semester count.
