STYLE GURU BIO: Brooke Benner

January 17th, 2017 at 2:00am

Hey, everyone! My name is Brooke Benner and I am so excited to be a part of the CollegeFashionista team this spring semester. I love everything about fashion and dream to be a part of the industry in the future.

I am a native of the beautiful state New Jersey and attend Rutgers University. I am a junior studying supply chain management and hope to utilize this degree to continue on to the business sector of the fashion industry in New York City after I graduate.

The best way for me to describe my style is casual bohemian. I tend to choose unique pieces that speak for themselves. I love pairing form-fitting garments with looser pieces that compliment each other.

Although I am from Jersey, I am still on winter break so I decided to take my Style Guru Bio photos in Beaver Creek, Colorado where I enjoyed an amazing ski vacation with my family. I chose to wear a beige tunic sweater paired with form-fitting dark wash jeans and knee-high suede boots. To finish off the look, I threw on a double pompom cashmere hat, a chunky necklace, and cool reflective sunglasses.

I am a huge fan of knee-high boots this season. They bring every outfit to a new level and create a chic look. My knee-high boots tie in the back, which allows me to make them as tight as I need to stay up on my leg. I also love the way the laces look on the back of the leg.

The double pompom hat I wore is the best hat I have ever owned. The two pompoms give the look a lighter feel by creating an almost comedic look. The hat is a unique statement of its own that helps vamp up my outfit.

I stayed true to my style by wearing a loose sweater and formfitting pants. I finished off the look with a chunky necklace and sunglasses. The necklace I chose is not one I would usually wear for it is fancier than my everyday jewelry, but this one spoke to me.

I cannot express my excitement to have been chosen to apart be of the Style Guru Gang. It is an honor to be able to express my personal style with all of you, along with showcasing the fabulous Fashionistas across my college campus.
