STYLE GURU BIO: Bridget Mulcahy

Nice to meet you, Fashionistas/os! My name is Bridget Mulcahy and I will be starting my junior year this fall at the University of California, Davis. I’m excited to continue documenting my personal style journey as a 20 year-old college student, and finding other fashion gems from other students on my campus. I find that my style is constantly evolving; it’s influenced by things like the music I’m listening to at the moment and the new people I’m meeting. What hasn’t changed is my love for classic, timeless style. Old-fashioned, vintage, feminine pieces have been incorporated into my college wardrobe to include more modern pieces. It’s a mix that often may be labeled as “preppy” or “professional” but in fact, it’s all my own. Taylor Swift, one of my favorite artists and people has this to say about personal growth: “Every day I wake up as someone slightly new. Isn’t it wild and intriguing and beautiful to think that every day we are new?” I’ve applied this kind of mindset in life, love, in my studies and in my wardrobe.

Traveling back home for the weekend from college can be hectic, but I still always try to travel in style. We’re heading into the fall season, but here in northern California, the heat is holding back my jeans and coats from making their debut a little bit longer. I’ve chosen a white, flowy dress with comfortable shoes and some of my favorite accessories. A simple, gold anchor bracelet is an essential in my collection, especially when putting together a summertime look. A large reversible tote is accompanying me on my journey, which even has its own mini purse inside! Not only does it look chic, but it can hold all of my different phone chargers, makeup cases, etc. (and it’s safe to say, us girls don’t travel lightly).

Fast-forward through the weekend and now here I am, back from my travels and getting ready for the school week. As any true Fashionista would, I’m planning my outfits and accessories for the next day. But really, who knows what tomorrow will bring?
