STYLE GURU BIO: Blaine Malefatto

Hi everyone! My name is Blaine and I’m from Long Island, New York. I’m  a sophomore at SUNY Plattsburgh and I am a Broadcast Journalism major, looking to double major in Public Relations. This will be my first semester as a Style Guru! Blogging and fashion are always something that have interested me, but I never really pursued anything with them, and now I have the chance to combine the two! I’m so excited to see what this semester as a Style Guru will bring, and what I will learn from it.

CollegeFashionista was brought to my attention by my friend Valerie who asked our friends at school if any of us would be interested in applying. I looked into it and thought it would be a great idea for me. People’s styles and fashion sense are so interesting to me, and I love gaining ideas from others. Also, having a blog like this would be great experience for me because of the career path I want.

Fashion is a great way to express one’s personality, mood or creativity. I wouldn’t say I have a particular style but if I had to choose my favorite style, it would be boho. I love palazzo pants with different designs on them, loose fitting tops, layered jewelry, etc. Since I live on Long Island, I love going to the beach in the summer, so sometimes my style is inspired by a beach-type look. However, it really depends on what I’m into that day. I tend to buy a lot of my clothes at PacSun, Brandy Melville, T.J.Maxx and from TOBI.

In my post, I’m wearing a black romper with a green cardigan that has gold studs on it. It’s not quite Fall yet so my outfit is still a little summery. However, I felt the cardigan gave it a nice Fall feel; and I really love to add cardigans to my outfits, they’re cozy and fashionable! I used my necklaces as a detailed shot because I love to layer necklaces. In addition, I’m wearing Michael Kors sandals that I loved to wear this summer because they added a little more to an outfit than regular flip flops.

I’m really excited to see where this internship takes me, to check out other Style Gurus’ articles and photos and get inspiration everywhere!
