STYLE GURU BIO: Bitsy Skerry

Hello, fellow fashion lovers! My name is Bitsy Skerry and I am a sophomore Marketing Communications major at Emerson College. Going to school in Boston, Massachusetts is such an exciting experience. Being from a small New Hampshire town, I love city living. My favorite things to do in Boston are shopping on Newbury Street and at the Prudential Center, taking walks through the Boston Common and Boston Public Garden, going to the ballet at the Boston Opera House, visiting the Museum of Fine Arts and having a lovely Italian dinner in the North End. I can’t believe I’m already starting my second year of college!

I’m an avid follower of all things fashion. I get inspiration from the city of Boston as well as scrolling through style blogs, reading Lucky magazine and Vogue and watching shows like What NOT to Wear, Project Runway and Fashion Police. My style icons included Audrey Hepburn, Miranda Kerr and Gigi Hadid. I have my own blog, Bits of Style, which is my personal style sanctuary. I would describe my style as classic with a modern and trendy twist.

I am really loving denim skirts and black and white stripes right now. They’re two of my wardrobe staples. The skirt I am wearing here is from Topshop and the top is Brandy Melville. I completed the look with with Ray-Ban Clubmasters, my Rebecca Minkoff mini bag, white Keds and a blue daisy print neckerchief I found at Savers.

Putting an outfit together is truly an art form. I equate getting dressed each day to painting a picture. It takes a little bit of time and the perfect mix of colors, patterns and accessories to create a one-of-a-kind look. The creativity of fashion is what I love most. Each day is an opportunity to wear something new, which I find so exciting.

I am excited to begin my second semester as a Style Guru and look forward to sharing my latest posts with this stylish community. I hope you enjoy them.
