My name is Angelica Toruno-Rios; I’ll be a junior this fall double majoring in Communication and Fashion Marketing at Pace University. Since I live so close to New York City, my love for fashion has always been like a sixth sense to me. Now that I am college student living in the city, I thought what better way to share my style with others, who have the same passion as myself, than through CollegeFashionista.
Living with a mother, who loved to dress me up and take many pictures, my admiration for fashion and photography was something that grew on me. I love black and white film photography, but with my Nikon D5100, I’ve noticed how important details, focus and backgrounds are. As I blog, you will notice that I pay close attention to all three.
My style is very spread out; it can vary from street style to a night out on the town, all the way to comfy and laid back. It all depends on my mood of that day as well as if I have taken a nap or had a cup of coffee.
The outfit I have on above is my classy street style. The gray top is comfortable, and the fabric was thin enough that it did not burn up in this extremely sunny summer weather. The white pants are also thin and give off that grunge style.
Since my outfit consists of solid colors, I decided to add a statement necklace along with it and an Alex and Ani bracelet. Gold is such a warm color, and pink is a summery color; together, they really do make a statement for these last few weeks of summer. Lastly, I decided to top this outfit off by wearing open-toe tan heels, which also helps keep that classy feel.
