STYLE GURU BIO: Alyce Wang

I am back, Fashionistas! I am Alyce Wang from University of Wisconsin-Madison. I am thrilled to work with ColllegeFashionista again this fall. It is a true joy to see so many trendy people scattered in colleges among the nation. This summer I gained so much experience with photography, editing, writing and styling through the internship.

I spent most of time abroad this summer. Through my travels to different places, I gained a deeper understanding of the fashion and beauty industry. Different culture can generate different styles. Fashion is originated from life. We can tell people’s identity and social standings by what they wear and how they present themselves. It is wonderful to see that fashion industry is embracing diversity nowadays. For my perspective, fashion spans across borders, without any limitations. You can wear whatever you want and do things you like. Just play with it.

As for my personal style, I love trying different styles, but I am always a big fan of minimalism and sporty all-black ensembles. Alexander Wang’s style is my all-time favorite. He always makes something basic very special, like this pair of black ankle boots. Recently, another minimalism style brand, Acne Studios, also caught my eyes. This shearling jacket is definitely a must-have during a cold winter to stay chic.

Living in Madison, it is very important to have a heart of pursuing beauty even in extreme cold. I really want to try something new other than the puffer coat this winter.  I look forward to another wonderful journey with CollegeFashionista.
