STYLE GURU BIO: Alexia Morton

Hey there, my fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Lexi and I am back for my seventh semester as a Style Guru with CollegeFashionista. I am thrilled to once again be working with such amazing (and well dressed) people, as well as interacting with the fashion-forward people around campus this fall.

In addition to working as a Style Guru this semester, I have also taken on the role of editorial intern. I am so excited to learn more about the editing process and help other Fashionistas and Fashionistos produce flawless, fashionable work. As a journalism and professional writing senior at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, I am so grateful for the opportunity to gain some real-world experience while combining several of my passions: writing, photography, fashion and proper grammar.

With summer winding down and fall well on its way, stores have begun to fill their racks with cozy sweaters, jackets and jeans. While my summer style was all about high-waisted shorts and pretty sundresses, I am ready for sweater weather. I can’t wait to rock my favorite combat boots, graphic T-shirts and flannels. This fall, back to school must-haves also include fashionable (yet practical) backpacks, chambray shirts and trendy sneakers.

For me, fashion is about expressing who you are as a person. Clothing should capture your personality, your passions and your likes and dislikes. As Victoria Justice perfectly put, “…there is no better way to express yourself than through the clothes you wear.” With that in mind, however you choose to dress this semester, remember to dress for yourself. I’ll be on the lookout, with camera in hand, to see what all of you Fashionistas and Fashionistos rock this fall.
