Hello, everyone! I am so excited to be a Style Guru intern this semester and have the chance to talk about all the fashion trends on my campus. I am a sophomore at American University, majoring in Public Relations and Strategic Communication, with plans to minor in Marketing and Graphic Design. In our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C., style and fashion is a key component to life. “Dress to impress” is the mantra here.

While my personal style often varies, I generally wear chic and sophisticated styles. When the occasion arises, I love to dress very glamorous and wear dresses and sparkles whenever I can. A staple item in my wardrobe is a statement necklace, it can easily take a plain outfit to the next level.

Outside of the fashion world my heart belongs to music. I sing, play the violin and know my way around the piano. Throughout my high school and freshman year of college, I’ve been very involved in choirs, orchestras and performances. Recently, I have started to make YouTube videos of covers of my favorite songs. Similar to fashion, music is a creative outlet that allows me to express myself.

Ever since I can remember, I absolutely loved going shopping and creating new outfits with my wardrobe. However, it was not until fairly recently that I realized I wanted to pursue my interest in fashion further. Growing up, I enjoyed looking at fashion magazines in the grocery store and eventually subscribed to Teen Vogue; however, my current favorite magazine is Elle. Writing for CollegeFashionista is my first step towards expanding my experience in the fashion world and I cannot be more grateful for this opportunity.
