STYLE GURO BIO: Zinnia Maldonado

September 4th, 2015 at 2:00am

Hey guys! My name is Zinnia Maldonado—as you’ve might have guessed—and I couldn’t be more excited join the wonderful CollegeFashionista community. I’m currently a sophomore at the beautiful Pennsylvania State University where I am studying Broadcast Journalism and International Relations.

I’m a firm believer in the age-old saying, “look good, feel good,” which is why I love expressing myself through my clothing options. The fashion and beauty industry has so much power over people—especially college females—that we need to speak up about what we want to see and I see CollegeFashionista as a platform in which we can make that happen.

My style switches up all the time: some days I’ll be sporting chunky heels with a T-shirt dress, while other times I rather opt for boyfriend jeans and Sperry Top-Siders. Although, one thing that will never change is my love for the color black (and its’ fellow neutral colored sisters). You can never go wrong with all-black attire. Although, I’m looking to broaden my fashion horizon this semester and step out of my comfort zone with the new fall season. I also love the ’90s style, I personally get some of my favorite pieces from my mother’s closet and the best oversized sweaters from my dad’s—free and cute!

Just like every typical college student, I’m always running late. Therefore, one of my favorite on-the-go solutions is a romper. Who has time to pick out bottoms AND a top? I love just throwing it on in the morning with some cute flats, and you can have a nice outfit in a matter of seconds. As summer sadly comes to an end, the romper is the perfect transition into the fall season.

Joining the CollegeFashionista family is going to be a great way for me to showcase the unique style of college students. College campuses are a breeding ground for the latest trends, which makes my task so much easier because I know I’ll have no problem finding an awesome outfit to share with you guys.
