STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Tied Up In Fall

Happy fall Fashionista/os. As the air becomes crisp, the colorful leaves start to fall, and you find yourself stopping at the local Starbucks to order your all-time favorite drink, a pumpkin spice latte. At the same time, you cannot help but feel eager to pull out your favorite sweaters, scarves and booties, which help you look super fashionable during football season and late night bonfires. Fashion designer and icon Coco Chanel once said, “To be irreplaceable one must always be different,” and there are various ways to have a fall-inspired ensemble that stands out from the rest. Although it can get quite chilly out and you are compelled to throw on your favorite crew neck sweater and call it a day, it is crucial that you do not let this weather intervene with your appearance. Be sure to stand out from the rest with a fashionable blanket scarf; they are chic and trendy.

This Fashionista is strutting an autumn-inspired outfit throughout Ohio University and is most definitely making a statement on campus. The dark washed skinny jeans from American Eagle Outfitters are a fantastic way to make this outfit casual yet presentable for class. All you need is a striped boat neck T-shirt from J.Crew, burnished chunky heel lace-up rusted brown booties from Charlotte Russe and most importantly the oversized blanket scarf from Marley Lilly. This blanket scarf is the new trending style for fall and the perfect way to make your outfit “different“! This scarf can dress up a casual outfit as well as help to keep you warm during brisk bonfires or a football game. This scarf can also be worn for a shopping spree on Court Street or a night out on the town in Columbus.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Do not be afraid to take chances with your outfit, the oversized blanket scarf is very versatile. Throw it over your lap as a cozy blanket and warm up with a friend at the next college football game. You can half tie the scarf and wear it as a turtleneck; you can braid the scarf or even tie it back with a belt. Take chances, be irreplaceable by being different and look great at the same time while becoming the fashion icon on your campus.”
