STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: This Turtle Won’t Slow You Down

Winter is coming here in the land of the 10,000 Lakes! It’s time to break out your woolliest sweaters and coziest boots to beat the freeze and keep warm from your nose to your toes. A major staple of your winter wardrobe should be a turtleneck. There are so many different kinds to choose from and they are probably one of the easiest outfits to rock when you are running late to your 8 a.m. classes. This Fashionista has totally figured out how to master the turtleneck. Put together with a embossed velvet skirt from Foreign Exchange and a retro denim jacket thrifted in Brooklyn, she is killing it!

Although there is no snow on the ground yet, the bitter cold is still here. Tights are another item to put on your winter list. They easily transition this outfit from fall to winter. A tip from this Fashionista is to get a pair with a fleece lining, they are not as opaque as leggings, but not as sheer as regular tights. They are super soft and perfect to match with skirts and dresses to wear all winter long.

Her denim jacket is the last piece that really pulls the whole ensemble together. It takes more formal top and skirt to a totally chic and comfortable outfit for class. She thrifted this jacket (and her shoes) from a little shop in Brooklyn, so your chances of finding these exact pieces are slim, but lucky for you I have found similar pieces that you must go buy. Here is a similar jacket from Urban Outfitters. As for her turtleneck sweater, you can find the same one here by Ruff Hewn. Head to toe, you can get this Fashionista’s fierce look with a few clicks of your mouse. Just in time for the holidays, too. So maybe you’ll have a few more things to add to your wishlist—happy shopping!
