STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: The Witching Hour

October 22nd, 2015 at 2:00am

Hey there, Fashionistas! It’s October and this month is not only the time to switch into full fall mode with pumpkin spice lattes and warmer clothes. October is the start of the string of holidays that includes one of my favorite holidays: Halloween. From the dark, rich colors of wicked figures to the loose, lacey fabrics that are reminiscent of cobwebs, this months style is heavily inspired by Halloween.

With the popularity of horror related shows like American Horror Story, trendsetters look to the stylish women of Coven in order to take advantage of Halloweens alternative style during October. The simplicity of the color black allows the Fashionista/o the ability to look effortless as well as tough, just like Jessica Lange did as her character in American Horror Story. Plus, the addition of lace adds a devilish and feminine look.

This Fashionista was especially inspired by this months roots in the supernatural by choosing a black lace romper with full lace sleeves. This romper is perfect for October because the longer sleeves fit in well with fall style and the color and fabric work well with the atmosphere of the month. She paired this romper with a simple pair of black faux-suede zip ankle boots that completed the all-black, coven-like ensemble. This Fashionista then added some embellishments with a customized Alex and Ani bracelet and finished her look buy using a beige Essie nail polish that would not distract from her outfit.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Use October as an excuse to match all in black with your best lady friends as your own coven.”
