The new, yet not so new, fall craze is the tuxedo blazer. From Barneys New York to Forever 21, every retailer is stocking up on tuxedo vests, blazers and dresses. Even working at Diane von Furstenberg corporate, we are constantly being requested our tuxedo looks for fall editorial features.

This Fashionista is rocking an oversized tuxedo blazer vest, and it is the perfect touch to her otherwise minimalist outfit. As a petite lady, the vest is a little extra oversized on her, giving her an edgier look. Pair the black and white ensemble with a staple belt and a loud bag and it becomes the perfect outfit. For fall, booties are also the go-to shoe—a little heel, a little ankle and a lot of comfy.

Recently pleather (and leather) shorts, pants and skirts have become a fun, sexy addition to an outfit. Other than the tuxedo vest, this fall will also most likely have a surge in pleather pieces. Pants might get a little hot, so wait for the colder months, but skirts and shorts give the perfect leggy look for the in-between weather right now. This outfit is also quite flexible; it can be for date night, work or even a quick shopping trip in SoHo. Pair a pleather bottom, bootie heel and tuxedo vest for the perfect chic fall outfit!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I’m a Zara girl. I believe in pairing minimalist pieces with loud ones to get a good contrast that looks effortlessly chic. Also, I love throwing on a duster, oversized vest or jacket piece to finish off an outfit.”
