STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Suited And Booted

A man in a suit can be so appealing. The confidence that a man in a suit gives off seems to attract many women, but as the summer dies down, the summer heat stays blazing. Is it possible to still get the structure of a suit without all of the extra sweat? As fall approaches and the summer lingers, the blazer, commonly know as the casual suit jacket, makes anything look business without the board room.

What started as a British norm in the ’60s has transitioned over the years to an American closet essential.  The double-padded shoulder with striped fabric has changed from a sportier look, worn by many in the boating and cricket world, to a everyday male and female look. James Long to Jill Sander to Givenchy to Versace, designers seemed to have hinted that the summer suiting is something to watch out for as soon as this fall or next summer.

Blazers seem to be a trend that always sticks around as designers continue to keep the look fresh and edgy, like the sleeveless blazer. This gives menswear a fresh spin. Layering it with some natural light wash jeans, cool white casual sneakers and a simple white T-shirt and you have all the style with none of the effort.

The blazer is not just for men. Fashionistas can get in on the fun as well and give the androgynous trend a more feminine look. This Fashionisto wears the trend but without the sleeveless apparel.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I try to always keep it simple and easy . A blazer makes me look like I took time in the morning but really I was super late running out the door.”
