STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: No Look Parallels

After a long, cold winter, all I wanted was one thing: to get back to my roots. This meant it was time to embrace the humid Southern summer heat once again. There are many ways of doing this. My favorite (besides heading to the beach or pool) happens to be by throwing on a summer dress, which seems to function perfectly for practically every errand or plan you could think of during a summer’s day. One Fashionista followed suit, but strayed from the traditional lace A-line summer dress to something a bit more chic. This Fashionista sported a structured shift dress with a pastel linear pattern. What was even more amazing was the fabric of the dress. Linen is both functional for summer and adds a classic touch to any look.

This Fashionista kept her look cool and classic. Her accessories were simple and timeless. She paired her 1950s-inspired cat-eye sunglasses with a few classic David Yurman bracelets and rings. She also added a blush Tory Burch cross-body bag, keeping her color scheme cool and neutral. The brown straps on her wedges work within her theme of neutral-toned accessories, and the woven portion on the heel added a much-needed touch of summer.

In addition to her classic accessories, this Fashionista also added a few pieces to bring this look into 2016. Her oversized hoop earrings added a twist to the traditional hoop, and the delicate circle pendant necklace with a hanging chain wasn’t necessary to finish her look, but it made this look her own.
