STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Monochromatic-Chic

Basically, a few of our favorite things in life are black and white: zebras, the Chanel logo and of course the classic houndstooth pattern. The simplicity of monochrome makes it a timeless classic and a color combo you need to stock your closet with. Whether it’s prints, stripes or color blocking, working the monochrome look is so easy. You never have to worry about wearing colors that don’t complement each other. Black and white make the perfect partnership.

One of my favorite ways to wear this combo is by color blocking: taking two separates and pairing them together. This look is easily achievable by taking a basic white tee and pairing it with a black bottom. This look can be styled for any event with practically any pieces from your wardrobe.

Here, our Fashionista shows you how to wear these chic shades. She paired a black long sleeve crop top with a white bandage A-line skirt. Though it may be chilly, a pair of tall knee-high socks are the perfect solution to beat the cold. To finish up the look she kept with the monochromatic theme and slipped on a pair of black booties along with a black felt hat.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Keep it simple; black and white is forever a staple in my book and you can never go wrong. Whenever in doubt, I can always grab my favorite white skirt and pair it with a simple crop top with some knee-highs.”
