STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Mix and Match

Some people say that you can only wear one print per outfit, just stick to stripes or plaid or polka dots, but that isn’t the case anymore. Recently, so many Fashionista/os have been jumping on the trend and mixing prints in their outfits and looking stylish! The only question remaining is how do I mix prints without looking mismatched?

The answer to that is simpler than it seems, just stick to a single color scheme, such as warm colors, neutrals or shades of blue. Another possible solution is to keep the rest of your outfit simple and in neutral colors to avoid making your outfit look too bright or busy. Of course, these are just suggestions, not rules, and there are plenty of ways to incorporate this trend into your daily life.

Take this Fashionista for example; she successfully wore two contrasting prints in one super cute fall outfit! The two prints she is wearing are seen in her black, gray and white uneven striped sweater and her black and white checkered flannel that she tied around her waist. Both of the patterns on her garments are very different in size and pattern type, however, she ties them together by keeping them both to a neutral black, white and gray color scheme. She kept the rest of her outfit very casual with a pair of light wash distressed jeans, and a pair of all black high-top Converse sneakers. Overall, this Fashionista brought the mixed prints trend to a cute and casual fall look!
