STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Graphic Tees, Please

It’s safe to say that every college girls go-to outfit in the fall consists of some combination of a flannel, leggings and boots and understandably so! There’s something incredibly comforting about a soft plaid flannel layered with basics that makes you feel like you’re wearing socially acceptable pajamas in public. This is especially convenient when you feel like you’ve been spending more time at the library into the late hours of the night than you do in your own bed—midterm struggles, anybody? When desperate times ensue, this is the perfect look to hide the fact that you’re sleep deprived and don’t have time to think about your appearance. The only problem with this life-saver of an outfit is the fact that you inevitably won’t be the only one wearing it. So how is one supposed to stand out amongst a sea of flannels on a crisp fall day? This Fashionista shows us how.

This Fashionista demonstrated a genius way to add your own personality to your flannel ensemble: have a few sassy graphic T-shirts on call! A T-shirt with a punchy saying, cool design or even a souvenir T-shirt from a concert gives the outfit a unique twist and shows passersby a little glimpse of who you are, all while still maintaining optimum comfort. This Fashionistas T-shirt was out of this world (I swear that will be my first and last bad pun). She fittingly posed with the “I come in peace” hand signal since her T-shirt pictured an alien in a UFO with the words, “Just visiting,” playfully insinuating that she was from another planet. The Fashionista further differentiated her outfit with a pair of emerald green knee-high socks that coordinated nicely with the navy and emerald tones in her flannel. Teal marble-print gauges and brown combat-style Dr. Martens finished off this edgy look.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Whether it be day to night, work to dinner or a chilly morning to a warm afternoon, I think that it’s important to dress in layers that transition well especially at this time of year. Swapping or adding just one item can add a ton of variety to your look.”
