STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: From Your Local Thrift Store

While fall may be dubbed the season of fashion, I honestly have to say spring is my favorite season for it. I feel like that once winter has passed, everyone is out of that winter glum, and it is just good spirits all around. And with good spirits, you are bound to have great outfits. When the sun comes out, you can’t help but to bring out your best outfit to match the beautiful day. So just imagine my excitement when the first sunny day in Syracuse rolled by.

I spotted this Fashionisto who was clearly dressed out of the norm. What caught my eye was the fact that he was dressed as if he just walked out of Goodwill-not saying his clothes seemed cheap. Everything about his look screamed vintage, which is not uncommon for a college student. When living on a student budget, you’re assured to be frequent thrift store shopper.

I didn’t even have to ask to know that his shirt and shorts were thrift items. I have been in enough thrift stores in my lifetime to know that floral button-downs as this one are very common to come across. And though it is a bit weird to be wearing swim shorts in a setting other than the beach or a pool, his shorts were definitely a perfect complement to the shirt. He completed the look with Native Apollo Moc sneakers, which I, for one, would certainly recommend to anyone. They are sporty with a slight futuristic look and also super comfortable. My favorite addition to the outfit has to be the socks. Who knew wacky striped socks could go so well with an outfit.
