STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Festival Child

While college kids, music junkies, Fashionistas and Fashionistos everywhere long to ditch their books and head straight to the desert for one of the biggest music festivals in the country, the spirit of Coachella still floats through the wardrobes of those unable to skip class.

Granted, not every Fashionista is rocking one of those tops that is basically a bikini top with long fringe hanging off the bottom to class. However, there does seem to be an abundance of pastel hair, flower crowns, suede fringe and metallic tattoos walking around campus. There is just something so whimsical and freeing about festival wear. It is almost like living inside of a Free People catalog. Festival wear allows all of us to transform into the bohemian beauty we wish we could be. While some of the crop top and flower crown combinations can be a little more difficult to pull off, there are plenty of safer options in the forms of rompers and maxi dresses.

You don’t have to be outlandish or scantily-clad in order to pull off a perfect festival look. This Fashionista is a prime example of this truth. Her flowy, floral dress and matching flower crown are not only tasteful, but fun and free-spirited. Her denim button-up changes up the texture of the look and is great to keep warm or to tie around her waist when she warms up. Lastly, combat boots have been a must-have for some time now. It is no surprise that she is staying on top of this trend and including it in her perfect festival look.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Dress how you feel. Look good, feel good. If you want to feel good, dress the part! I’m never feeling my best in sweats and a T-shirt. The best pick-me-up on a Monday is a dress and lipstick!”
