STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Fall Transitions

October 21st, 2015 at 2:00am

We are slowly but surely approaching the time of the year when we have to break out the boots and unfold the sweaters. With it not being sweltering hot like it always tends to be here in Mississippi, fall is my favorite time of the year. The neutral yet playful colors that cover the shoppers in the streets and the students on campus make me feel all fuzzy on the inside. This also means it’s time for the pumpkin spice craze to begin. Although I am not a fan of the flavor, I certainly do love the aroma.

Along with the crisp, clear mornings that the fall season brings us, it also tends to get a little heated later in the day when I run most of my errands. With that being said, I had to learn how to be able to style one outfit that can accommodate me throughout the day with the varying temperatures.

This lovely Fashionista accomplished this goal perfectly. She created a beautiful ensemble that can transition from morning to afternoon and then into the evening if you wish. The main element of her look is her scarf. This blanket scarf is a must for the cooler weather in the mornings. It brings about the comfort of an extra layer of clothing without being too bulky or overpowering. As you continue on throughout the day and warm up, you can simply slip it off and still have a put together look.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I always try to blend comfort with style. I added the elements of a textured scarf, a simple, suede skirt and classic leather boots to easily achieve that look.”
