STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Fall Fashion

After going home for fall break, I returned to campus to find the season had officially changed. The trees had transformed into vivid shades of red and orange, and there was a distinct chill in the air. Fall was finally here! With it, however, comes the necessity to shift your wardrobe to darker hues and warmer layers. Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year because of the diversity of fashion choices one can make.

This Fashionisto put together a perfect autumn ensemble. He paired khaki pants, a staple for any Fashionisto in the cooler weather, with a thin, army green sweater. This sweater is a ideal choice for fall in South Carolina, where the weather is in the 50s when you wake up, but near the 80s in the afternoon. By choosing a lightweight sweater, you can cater your outfit to the unpredictable temperature while still dressing for the season. This sweater also reflects a major trend in autumn: dark colors. Tones such as army green, burnt orange, wine red and navy blue are hues that riddle everyone’s fall wardrobe, mine included. One of my favorite things about this season is the transition towards darker, more earthy colors.

Keeping with current trends, this Fashionisto finished off his fall outfit with duck boots. These boots by L.L. Bean are increasingly more popular this season, and through winter, with Fashionistas and Fashionistos alike. Not only do duck boots pair well with almost anything, they are also waterproof and very insulating, keeping you warm and protected from the cold, rainy weather that is sure to follow in the coming months. The final touch on this Fashionisto’s outfit is his black leather watch. A leather banded watch is a key staple for all Fashionistas/os wardrobe. This watch adds a touch of sophistication to a casual outfit.
