STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Destroyed Denim

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few seasons, you know that the destroyed look is a hot commodity right now. We see people wearing flannels that look like they’ve been splattered with bleach and T-shirts with holes. However, the hottest item right now seems to be destroyed denim. Not just distressed denim with little rips, tears and splatters, but denim that is completely destroyed. A lot of people ask, why spend good money on a pair of jeans that are already ruined? I say it’s worth it because it’s edgy and it really adds uniqueness and character to any look. This street style look has even made it to the runway. If you don’t remember, the Chanel fall 2015 ready-to-wear show included sweat suits with holes paired with sneakers.

This Fashionista has done an impeccable job of pairing high-waisted destroyed black jeans with a white crop top and a pretty floral kimono from Brandy Melville. This outfit looks even better paired with the black booties she is wearing. The buckles on the boots are edgy and complement the destroyed black jeans nicely. This look is a perfect combination of naughty and nice. The white crop top and the floral kimono say “angel,” and the black destroyed jeans with the black booties say “devil.” This Fashionista shows us the perfect way to balance out a pair of destroyed jeans and put together a great look for spring. For those of you who have ever questioned the destroyed look, take a look at her and decide for yourself.
