STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Cute, Comfy, Casual Cover-Up

Though summer is now unfortunately coming to an end (if you listen closely enough, you might be able to hear me crying and whimpering), there’s still time left to catch some sun and a little bit of a tan. Especially for those of us soaking in those last few moments of heat or just beginning to go through their “Indian summer.”

On days such as these when you are en route to the beach with some of your absolute favorite people and the weather is near perfection, a sundress is an ultimate go-to. With hardly any effort on your part, it is ridiculously easy to go from “I just rolled out of bed, don’t mind me” to “Gasp! I may have put in actual effort today!”

Detailing on dresses, or any article of clothing for that matter, is always an extra bonus. I totally love the criss-cross style that this Fashionista is wearing, and something as simple as this can make all the difference. The detail on the top of the dress adds a little “pop!” as well. A cinched waist, such as the one shown, creates a cute and fun flow to the dress with added comfort.

Since we are dressed for water, sandals are obviously the best bet for this outfit. Rainbow sandals are where comfy meets practical. Matched with the braided back of the dress, the braided sandals creates a more coordinated, polished look.

If you are like me and love to try fun hairstyles but can never quite get it right (I’m looking at you, waterfall braids), then you also appreciate the true beauty of messy yet masterful bun. I’m all about styles that make you look like you tried harder than you really did, as getting up early is certainly not a concept for me. This Fashionista rocks a messy bun perfect for any last-minute beach day and can be used for any outfit for any season, when you want your hair as far away from you as possible without having to cut it — the horror!

Transitioning between seasons doesn’t have to be difficult or meticulous. Pair with a jacket and boots and you’re set for anything the weather throws at you!
