STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Climate Control

Fall is the best time of the year, in my opinion. It’s time for all things pumpkin, cozy sweaters, crunchy leaves and those perfectly Instagramable apple orchards. It’s a highly anticipated season, and the build-up of it makes it impossible to not look forward to. This fall, though, the temperature has been slow to drop. In the middle of October, it still feels like it was appropriate to wear a lightweight T-shirt. How is one supposed to enjoy fall to the fullest when it’s still 70 degrees outside?

These unusually high temperatures bring about some wardrobe issues as well. In your heart, you know you should be wearing your chunkiest sweater, but your weather app tells you that you could get a couple more wears out of your denim cut-offs. It can be extremely difficult to concoct a fall outfit that fits with the season, but also keeps you comfortable.

Take some cues from this Fashionista. She begins with a corduroy skirt, and although corduroy is a warmer fabric, her legs are bare, making the skirt appropriate for the date and temperature. She then tucks in a classic white T-shirt and throws an oversized vintage denim jacket over it. She then wears her white Converse sneakers that she balances out with a pair of black socks. She completes the look with a printed tote, some awesome sunglasses and a sleek black watch.

This weather tends to throw a wrench in some cozy outfit plans. The best way to deal with it is by wearing your favorite fall pieces and pairing them with something that will keep you cool as well. Happy fall, Fashionistas!
