STYLE ADVICE: Embrace Color

For most college students, looking stylish is very important when a new semester begins. Especially for fashion lovers, it is crucial to look their best when meeting new professors and classmates. With this article, hopefully I can give you some advice to help you look your very best for the spring semester!

To start, it is always a good idea to wear something that you are comfortable in, whether that be a pair of jeans, leggings, or even sweats! There are ways to make almost anything look stylish. This Fashionista chose to wear a pair of black ripped jeans and a dark gray top. Since she has a solid dark base, she can wear whatever colored jacket she wants.

In the colder months, I’ve noticed that people tend to shy away from colors. Bright colors are typically worn in the summer months, however I think that adding deep jewel tones into a look is a great way to wear color in the colder months. While still reflecting the colder time of year, these deeper shades will keep you from a colorless winter. This Fashionista chose to wear a maroon colored jacket, which definitely brightens her overall look due to her darker base.

As for shoes, you could wear any type of tall boot, bootie, or sneaker. It is important to remember that if you want to add more than one color into your look to make sure that those two colors match and complement each other. In this case, she chose to wear a pair of cognac Frye boots that look fantastic with her maroon jacket. These two tones definitely complement each other and her overall look.

Lastly, our Fashionista chose to keep it minimal with her jewelry. She is wearing a pair of pearl earrings, a simple necklace, and two elegant rings. She did such a wonderful job putting together a colorful look to start off the semester. I hope you guys are able to take this advice and create a look just as stylish!
