Nine Underrated Reasons Why Fall Is the Best Season

If you know me, you know fall is my favorite season (and I know I am not alone). I mean what’s not to love? Other than the obvious reasons why fall is the best season (like the PSL), here are nine often overlooked but equally important why fall is the tops.

1—The Weather

Although I currently live in the sunshine state and the weather doesn’t change too much, it’s just enough to enjoy some hot coffee and warm blankets without dying of heat exhaustion. It is the perfect time to get out and go for a hike or even take pictures with your #GuruGang at your closest pumpkin patch.

2—Nature

Seriously Mother Nature never looks better than during the fall. The reds, golds and warm tones of the season can only be described as magical. Not only are these natural elements super inspiring, but make for truly gorgeous content as well.

3—Road trips

Although while in college we don’t actually get that long of a break during the fall semester (nor have the budget for extravagant vaca), even a weekend road trip is a necessity this autumn. Whether visiting a friend at a nearby school, taking a day trip to go apple picking or grabbing your gang for a camping weekend, fall is the ultimate excuse to get behind the wheel and getaway.

4—Football season

College football specifically is kind of a way of life in this country. Usually rivalry week is during the week of Thanksgiving. Honestly, when you think of fall semester you think football (and tailgate) season.

5—The adjectives

Just when you thought your favorite latte/baked good/brunch order couldn’t get any better, fall happens. Suddenly every one of your favorite indulgences has the word “apple,” “pumpkin,” and/or “caramel” in front of it.

6—Being basic is totally acceptable

All year long, we secretly hid our most cliché habits. But in fall, we are invited to let out our most basic selves and unapologetically carve pumpkins and eat apple cider doughnuts with no shame.

7—So many activities

I’m pretty sure it is physically impossible to be bored during fall. Any second I have free from class is filled with seasonal celebrations and random activities, which is great for my growing Netflix queue come winter.

8—Warm beverages

You can have all the hot coffee your heart desires without simultaneously sweating. (That is, until you hit your fifth cup of the day and your heart starts racing. But that’s not fall’s fault.)

9—Sweater weather
