Your living space is an extension of who you are. When someone walks into your bedroom, you want them instantly learn something about you—whether it be about your personal style, personality or passions.

The best way to do this is through finding special pieces as special as you. Whether you love photography, travel or flowers, Bed Bath & Beyond has a ton of unique accessories to instantly infuse some personality into your living space. With the help of Bed Bath & Beyond, a few simple pieces can make your space a real reflection of you.

Check out how this University of Wisconsin Style Guru (and photography-enthusiast) accessorizes her space to showcase her talent and passion.

My name is Kari and I’m a graduating senior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I’m a dog-loving, coffee-drinking, boyband fan who is always taking pictures.

I used to groan when my mom would make my siblings and me pose for pictures as kids, but now I’m the one always snapping photos every chance I get. My passion for photography is really what helped me define my personal style. My favorite pictures are clean, simple, balanced and unique. They’re meaningful, artistic, classic and current.

These things that I try to achieve in my photography are also what I try to achieve in my closet and in my home.

Finding my personal style has been a process over the years.  I like things to be simple and laid back. In my apartment and in my wardrobe, I generally keep things pretty neutral so I can add color through accessories or smaller pieces of furniture. That way, when I want a change, I can switch those things around without having to redo everything.

When I’m decorating my space, I try to keep clutter to a minimum and surround myself only with things I really love. In my apartment, my furniture and bedding is mostly monochromatic, so to add a little color, I chose bright throw pillows, flowers and framed photographs. One of my favorite things to do is print out photographs I’ve taken and frame them or hang them around my apartment.

It’s a really easy way to make a space feel like home.
