BEAUTY BAR: Welcome to the Dark Side

My favorite part about fall fashion is the deep autumn colors! I know dark makeup colors intimidate some people, but if done right, it can look amazing. An intense lip color can give a simple outfit a sultry edge. There is something about adding lipstick and heels to any outfit that makes you feel like you run the world. Deep reds, purples and taupes can be worn with subtle face and eye makeup to work. For a more playful look, wear one of these lip colors with a smokey eye and a little black dress, and you’re set for the evening! Adding a light amount of highlighter and bronzer can complement both of these looks.

This Fashionista paired a dark lip and kept the rest of her makeup pretty natural in order to make her lips pop. Her outfit consists of darker shades of gray and black, so this dark lip shade works! This Fashionista told me she doesn’t like the texture of original lipsticks on her lips, so she opted for a lip crayon by NYX instead. I am a personal fan of lip creams for a lighter texture. Don’t be afraid to try out several different types of lip colors until you find one that you love. Sephora employees are more than willing to help you find the perfect shade before you purchase anything.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: To get this look you will need a neutral eyeshadow set, your favorite mascara and a dark lipstick. Finish off this look with your everyday foundation routine and voilà!
