BEAUTY BAR: The Effortless Bun

Last week, over the final week of August, the thermometer was telling me it was a chilly 59 degrees. October weather in August? Seriously?! This week as I am lugging my backpack from class to class, it is a rough 90 degrees. Talk about global warming, eh? Well I think almost every girl has the issue of dealing with their hair in the hot, summer heat. It frizzes, it causes a greater case of non-stop sweating and is simply not manageable. The solution to this problem is the invention of the effortless low bun. Simple, undemanding and the formula to a fresh look in the summer heat.

This Fashionista was making her way to class through the hectic heat wave when I spotted her perfected knotted bun. Pushed back and twisted to perfection, she makes a 90 degree day look like a walk in the park. With such a simple look, this Fashionista looks cool and collected, while still giving off the impression that she “woke up like this.” Please, tell us your secret! Turns out it’s easy, breezy, beautiful and as simple as it gets.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: To complete this low bun and make it look as clean as possible, you’ll need a brush, hairspray and a few bobby pins. After brushing your hair back into a tight pony, simply twirl the hair around until its in a tight knot. Ponytail it up and bobby pin back any loose strands. Lastly, spray some hair spray and pat it down until everything is slicked back to perfection.
