BEAUTY BAR: Sun’s Out, Buns Out

Happy September, pretty people! I hope everyone is getting back into the groove of school and loving all of their classes. Although being reunited with friends and decorating your new room is exciting, the start of a new year comes with expensive textbooks, early morning classes and breaking a sweat from running around campus during the “dog days of summer.” My least favorite thing about the return of heavy backpacks is having to lug them around in the 90 degree heat that Athens has to offer. My hair is constantly something I have to worry about, and I am ultimately forced to throw a hat on to cover up my frizzy locks.

This Fashionista avoids this unfortunate event with an effortless hairdo that’s sure to keep you frizz-free too! These “fun buns,” as we’ve declared them, are a quick fix in the morning when you’re in a panic because you’ve accidentally overslept that alarm for your 9 a.m. Twirl and tie your hair up—two simple steps to keep you looking “easy, breezy, beautiful!”

I don’t know about you, but even when the temperatures keep rising, it seems as if every classroom I step into is set to frigid degrees. I absolutely hate wearing the same boring zip-up or generic OU sweatshirt, so this bold Lilly Pulitzer half-zip is perfect to spice up your look. Choosing something like a half-zip is a great way to also keep your hair intact without having to worry about pulling a sweatshirt on and off between temperatures. Pair your jacket with some classic blue jean cut-offs and white Converse for a clean look. Pulled together with the right accessories, you’re bound to get compliments all day long!

To complete this look, add perfectly sculpted brows and a soft pink lip like Urban Decay’s Vice Lipstick in the shade of “anarchy.” This Fashionista loves using Anastasia’s brow pencil in the color blonde. Grab a couple of hair ties and bobby pins, and you’re good to go!
