Anyone who knows me really well knows that my favorite beauty product in the world is lipstick. It does not matter what shade, as long as it is matte and long lasting, it goes on my lips. My obsession with lipstick is so bad I have started a collection; the goal is to fill a drawer with lipstick by 2017.
One lipstick trend I have not gotten to has been the bold lip. It’s not that I’m afraid of color it’s just that I tend to lean toward the reds, pinks and purples more. That’s why I was so happy to see this Fashionista rock this dark blue lipstick. In the summertime, most people lean toward lighter colors because, well, it’s summer! Recently, dark vampy colors have been making a scene for summertime makeup.
Blue lipstick can seem daunting at first glance but as our Fashionista has so fashionably executed, it really isn’t. The shade is dark enough where from far away it doesn’t seem all that blue. Paired with her dark clothing, the lipstick doesn’t look clownish. This Fashionista also paired her blue lips with a fun blue and gold fingernail design along with her blue hair. When I asked her what was the inspiration for this look, she said “summertime witch.” I can dig it. The color is edgy and sophisticated and will definitely turn heads when worn.
