BEAUTY BAR: Edgy Eyes And Bold Brows

Over the past few weeks, I have seen a new level of dedication to girls’ makeup regimes all over my campus. Everywhere I look I see brows on fleek, bright lips, a perfected contour or a great smokey eye. Of course, a good outfit is important, but finishing it off with a pop of lipstick or a shimmery highlight makes the look complete. This Fashionista is ready to rock with a banging outfit, but gets 10 out of 10 for her makeup. Looking totally #RAD, this week’s Fashionista has set the beauty bar high. She says her signature look focuses on three things: brows, highlighting and eyes.

Her bold brows are carefully shaped and filled using an Anastasia Beverly Hills brow pencil, which gives her face some great definition. Next, our Fashionista is all about making her cheeks pop and couldn’t contain her excitement when telling me all about her new highlighter, Jaclyn Hill’s Champagne Pop. With easy strokes across the apple of her cheek, a hue of shimmer is created. Now many of us associate a smokey eye with a night on the town, but this Fashionista rocks the daytime look by blending several darker shades along with some neutral ones to pull of a low-key, edgy eye.

With boldly stated brows, dark eyes and shimmery cheeks, it is important that you don’t overdo it with your outfit. This Fashionista keeps it sweet and simple with a black T-shirt dress, a leather jacket and some classic white sneakers. The entire look is effortless and subtle, making it perfect for any daytime activity whether it be class, coffee with friends or an afternoon spent library bound. Now I am definitely no makeup expert but this look is doable! I actually went home and tried it out myself, so shoutout to this Fashionista for showing me what’s up with makeup this fall.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: To complete this look you will need an eyeshadow palette, a brow pencil (or gel) and, finally, a highlighter. In order to keep this look clean and fresh, it is important to keep your blush, eyeliner and bronzer to a minimum.
