BEAUTY BAR: Chop It, Crop It

It’s starting to feel a lot like spring here in Minnesota, and Fashionista/os alike are celebrating in the most spring-like way—chopping and coloring their hair. Bold, bright ombré hues are adding more color onto the campus, but subtle gray, pastel hues are adding a fresh, calm feeling to the hustle and bustle of finals season.

When I spotted this Fashionista, I was drawn in by the calmness and uniqueness her hair exuded. But it wasn’t just her hair color that I fell in love with. Her fresh, super hip chopped haircut perfectly complemented everything about her look—hair color, glasses and overall outfit included. Her baby bangs paired nicely her rounded frames, and her all-black outfit worked so well with the light hair. It’s the perfect combination of dark and light, funky and casual, making it an ideal look for those who still prefer to wear all-black even when the weather encourages more colorful ensembles.

So if you’re done with most of your spring cleaning, consider making a bold jump and trying something totally different with your hair! Dye it or chop it—it’s the easiest way to give yourself a fresh new look.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: This look is easy to achieve, though you need to be a bit of a risk taker. Think bold when you are talking to your stylist the next time you sit in those comfy salon chairs. You don’t have to go as short as this Fashionista, but even adding wispy bangs can change your entire look!
