AROUND TOWN: Hayden Pigott

This week’s Fashionista, a freshman journalism major, is awesome. Not only is she a member of the Her Campus Blogger Network, but she also writes for her own magazine, called District. She loves both fashion and writing, so it’s no surprise that she also has her own blog, Haute Table, which covers topics ranging from fashion trends to delicious brunch spots around Austin, Texas. This Fashionista is basically Wonder Woman and a huge inspiration for my own ventures into the world of fashion.

Name: Hayden Pigott

Role: Founder of Haute Table

CollegeFashionista: What made you decide to start your own blog?

Hayden Pigott: So when I was in eighth grade, I was telling someone I loved fashion and they told me about Cupcakes and Cashmere, and from then on I loved fashion blogs. Then a few years later, someone told me I should start my own, so I did!

CF: Do you plan to pursue a career in the fashion industry?

HP: I definitely plan to pursue a career in the fashion industry. I am a journalism major and I really want to go into fashion journalism. My dream job is to be travel editor of Vogue Italia.

CF: What’s your favorite trend for spring 2015?

HP: My favorite trend would definitely be gingham. I am a very preppy person and that print is amazing. I also love my Hunter Boots and printed shorts for spring.

CF: Any advice for other people looking to start their own blog?

HP: My advice is to actually do it. I sat around and contemplated it for so long, but I think you should just jump in. I swear, only my parents read it religiously still, but that is totally fine. I blog for myself and so should others; it isn’t about getting rich or famous, it is about making yourself happy, and that is what I think is important.
