Fashion can do wonderful things, from being able to create a personal brand to lighting up a Fashionista’s world. The latter is exactly the case for Fashilluminous, a personal style blogger and University of South Florida student. Fashion is the light in her world and she wants to share that light with her followers. Whether it’s in a post about her favorite basics or a recap about her Teen Vogue Fashion U experience, Fashilluminous is there to enhance the lives of her followers.

CollegeFashionista: When did you start Fashilluminous?
Michelle Almonor: I started Fashilluminous February of last year but didn’t showcase it to the public until July.
CF: What made you decide to start your own blog?
MA: Fashilluminous was created with the purpose of documenting my fashion journey. Upon graduation I hope to fulfill my dreams and get a career in the fashion industry, fingers crossed! I wanted to be able to look back at my blog and see how far I came from the beginning. Since then, the blog has evolved as a place where you can get fashion and beauty tips that can actually assist you in your every day life as well. There is even a spot on my blog where my readers can actually submit fashion questions (Ask Fashilluminous) and I assist them.
CF: Do you have any advice for anyone looking to start his or her own blog?
MA: My advice for those wanting to start a blog is to stay true to you. Don’t ever feel like your blog has to look like someone else’s for it to be recognized. Do your research, put your best content out there and be yourself!
CF: What is your favorite trend of spring 2015?
MA: This is definitely a hard question! I absolutely love all of the trends for this spring to be honest. If I had to choose just one, I would say the all-white trend is my favorite. I’m really into monochromatic neutral looks and all-white gives off a very zen, positive feel.
