ALL IN THE DETAILS: Sweater Weather is Better Weather

Happy February to all! With the weather being rainy and dreary one day to cold and blizzardy the next, Kent, Ohio never fails to surprise me. And it looks like this year Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow because it’s still as cold and blustery as ever in the Midwest. With six more weeks of winter in store, keep those sweaters in the front of your closet, because you’ll be needing them more than ever!

This Fashionista is sporting a white cowl neck sweater, which happens to be my favorite winter essential. Within the last couple of years these sweaters have re-emerged in the world of fashion. I even have some of my mom’s retro cowl neck sweaters from the ’80s.

To add onto this cute and casual look, she has added dark wash jeans and an army green jacket to complement the white sweater. A huge tip would be to layer, layer, layer! With how cold it is, especially walking to class, it’s important wear layers so the wind doesn’t blow right through your clothing.

I firmly believe that the best way to accessorize is with shoes. Shoes should always be the most interesting part of an outfit and should ultimately tie the entire outfit together. This Fashionista is wearing chestnut colored booties, which lace up in the front and have a slight wedge heel. This season is all about the booties, whether it’s a wedge heel or a flat heel, anything goes. To complete this look this Fashionista added a long silver stone necklace.

To me this look screams cold winter day, it’s perfect for class, or even walking around downtown and exploring. Stay warm out there Fashionistas/os!
