ALL IN THE DETAILS: (Seam)lessly Cool

November 4th, 2016 at 2:00am

When it comes to denim, I live by the motto, “Too much is never enough.” From light wash flares to leopard printed skinnies, my bottom drawer is stuffed with jeans. The great thing about denim is that it’s always in style but there’s a different trend each season. Last year flares had a major revival, and while they’re still a fall wardrobe staple, new denim trends are on the rise.

Distressed denim can always be seen from season to season, but now the trend of unfinished denim is taking off. Unfinished denim is all in the details, from rugged hems to mismatched seams. This Fashionista rocks a pair of lighter wash denim that sports dark indigo seams down the side of the legs. This simple detail completely changes the outfit and gives it an effortless, cool vibe.

To complement her statement denim, this Fashionista sports a gray T-shirt under an olive green anorak jacket. The neutral colors help bring the attention to the denim and give it the perfect fall weather aesthetic. The Fashionista also rocks a pair of suede booties, which will forever be a fall staple in my wardrobe. To finish off the look, the Fashionista added a tribal style statement necklace, which makes the ensemble look polished and a little more boho.

This Fashionista’s outfit could be worn almost anywhere from class to a casual dinner out. The neutrality of her shirt, jacket and booties give the outfit a lot of versatility, while the denim makes the outfit cool and different. The jeans could be styled with almost anything, but I would personally rock them with a turtleneck. Out of all the emerging trends, I have to say unfinished denim is my favorite, and I am now on the hunt for a pair of jeans just like this Fashionista’s.
