The weather here in Illinois can be unpredictable, and sometimes it’s just easier to slap on a pair of sweatpants and not care about our appearances. It’s too much of a hassle to pull out both sandals and snow boots in the same week! Well lucky for us, this Fashionista knows how to balance her outfit with the crazy transitional weather.

One of my favorite things about spring is being able to pack away the simple neutral-colored winter pieces to switch them out for fun, bright spring ones. A pop of color is the perfect way to transition from winter to spring. Spring is the time to have fun with your outfits and experiment with different looks. This Fashionista knows just how to have fun and be stylish with brightly colored pants. The bright pop of purple pants lets her stand out from the crowd and get noticed, while still allowing her to stay a bit warmer on those chilly spring days.

This Fashionista paired the pants with a soft neutral top, which allows the pants to be the star of the show. In addition, the simple pair of Sperry Top-Siders adds comfort and style for a long day of classes. To complete the outfit, she layered a leopard print scarf to add dimension, warmth and intrigue to the outfit. I absolutely love adding printed pieces to solid-colored outfits, because make any look more coveted.

Spring is my favorite season, because the nice warm weather allows me to step out of my neutral comfort zone and experiment with different colors. Spring flowers are starting to bloom, so why shouldn’t you, too?

How To: Adding pops of color to an outfit is the perfect way to show off your bold personality, but be careful not to overdo it! Keep the bold colors to a minimum by finding bright pieces, then pair it with tops and accessories in prints such as stripes and polka-dots. Wear a neutral cardigan to provide more warmth on those cold spring days, and you’ll be good to go!
