ALL IN THE DETAILS: On the Fringe

Every season has its trends. Now that summer has passed us we will no longer be bombarded with brights, whites or florals. With fall comes various tones of orange, yellow and red. Aside from the warm color palette some details are also added to the landscape. Fringe is one of them. With historical references to Native American tribes, fringe almost always resurfaces during this time of harvest and gathering. The classic detail has come a long way from its original use of repelling rain water. Practicality has been lost and it is now used to make a statement and catch the eye in passing.

While waiting in the three hour line at the #29Rooms event, something caught my eye. This Fashionista was seriously owning her all black ensemble. Not only is this my favorite look, but she was also able to mix textures, which really made the fringe detail stand out. Unlike some trends that can make people question your sanity, fringe is one that looks good on any Fashionista/o. I’ve always been a fan of garments that provide enough coverage as the temperature begins to drop while still allowing breathing room for those random scorchers. That is exactly why fringe is so ideal for fall.

How To: Want to try out this classic trend for the fall season? You can go with a single color or go two-tone with the right pieces. Always stick with one fringed garment in order to avoid too much of a good thing. If you opt to stick with one color look for various textures or an accessory that adds a pop of color.
