ALL IN THE DETAILS: Minimal Effort, Maximum Style

At the end of a long semester, we all just want simplicity. The long semester of homework, tests and papers has taken its toll. The added pressure of exams, final grades and the holidays does not help. Simple days with little to no work, and simple outfits that are easily pieced together stylishly are the way to go for this scenario. With some recent trends of minimal accessories and neutral tones, the average college student has an example of a minimalistic look that will afford them simplicity and style during this busy time of the year.

This Fashionista chose neutral colored clothing items as well as jewelry for her minimalistic ensemble. Every detail of this outfit was geared towards neutral tones. With black, brown and gold as her three key choices, minimalism is achieved while still looking fashionable.

She first decided to pair slim, black skinny jeans with an off-white, lace trimmed sweater from Urban Outfitters—both of which were Black Friday steals. This Fashionista then added some Steve Madden brown leather boots—which she said were just all around a good winter investment—and a golden high low necklace from Urban Outfitters.  To complete her look, she loosely curled her hair with a CHI Air Tourmaline Ceramic Styler from Target to give her minimalistic look a little extra without adding too much.

How To: Altogether, this outfit is easy to throw on before an exam and still looks chic. You can play up the minimalistic detailing that this Fashionista employed by following similar guidelines, like keeping the pieces of your ensemble within the same coloring or have minimal jewelry.
