ALL IN THE DETAILS: Little Accents, Big Impact

Maryland’s continued horrible rainy weather mixed with finals week has made everyone go slightly crazy and I’ve seen gray sweatpants everywhere I look. This week’s Fashionista brought the sun and a breath of fresh air reviving my faith in campus fashion. Her style is simplistic and easy-going with fun accents and surprises that tie the whole outfit together. This Fashionista is from Australia and proved the validity behind the saying “less is more.”

My favorite part of this outfit is how each aspect of it complements another. Green is a go-to color for any redhead, myself included, and really brings out the color of her hair, making it pop and be a bonus accessory to this outfit. While she is wearing darker tones, the gladiator sandals and gold accents make this season-appropriate.

I am personally a big fan of statement necklaces and larger jewelry, but this Fashionista has me second-guessing my beliefs. Her small pendant necklace gives the perfect amount of light to the top half without completely distracting from the shape the top gives her. Her petite gold cross bracelet paired with the simple ring balance out the outfit by giving the bottom half the same amount of sparkle. You can never go wrong with a watch, especially one that tells you the time while showing you the world. The neutral colors of the watch pair nicely with the earth tones of the top and jean.

The winning part of this outfit is the back of the top. I’m a sucker for a good back, and this Fashionista did not disappoint. I love the cut-outs and how it is subtle, keeping it class appropriate. The back is essential to the shape of the top and makes it just as fun as the front!. This look is definitely going to be huge for the summer!

How To: First you need to find a top that is summer-ready and gives you killer confidence, and don’t be afraid to show some skin! Find jewelry that is petite with a big presence and stick to the same stone or type, whether it’s silver or ruby, and keep the theme to make sure it has the same impact!
