It’s no secret that the lace-up trend has been a popular one over the past few months. It’s been seen mostly on tops and dresses, but even sweaters and bodysuits have done it as well. The embroidery and lace-up on this Fashionista’s dress make it really unique. Because of the detail in the dress, this Fashionista kept the rest of her outfit simple so that the main focus could stay in one place. Her black lace-up sandals (another big trend) and black aviator sunglasses are muted, but still pull her entire look together. Tying her hair into a top knot also keeps the focus of the outfit on her dress.

Luckily for this Fashionista who lives in Miami, she gets to wear amazing dresses like this one all year round! Living in a warm climate, it might be difficult to wear pieces that come out for winter, but she’s doing a great job adding the lace-up trend into her look! I’ve been seeing a lot of the lace-up bodysuits this winter, but not everyone lives in a place where they can try the lace-up trend in dress form.

How To: If you’re worried about adding a bold piece into your look, try starting out with something not as noticeable, like shoes, instead of a dress or top. An understated outfit with a flashy pair of sandals or heels (try snakeskin or pom-poms) can make it seem like you’ve put a lot of effort into your look. Allowing one statement piece to be the focus of your outfit can be a great way to incorporate pieces into your wardrobe that you might have never thought of trying before!
