ALL IN THE DETAILS: Lace Be Honest

Hey Fashionistas/os! School is finally getting into full swing, but the summer weather, at least in New England, is not letting up just yet! With this, the hardest decision of the day remains what to wear. The struggle between staying warm in the AC and cool in the heat can really be a damper on what to wear on campus.

But don’t give up hope! This Fashionista has found a good balance. At the center of this monochromatic color scheme is a lacy black top that keeps the arms covered but is light enough for the 90 degree weather. She pairs this with large, metal rimmed sunglasses that protect from the glaring sun, while also adding a simple accessory that does not take away from the top.

Keeping with the monochromatic feel, she pairs dark wash jeans! Now I know you may be thinking, “Jeans? But you said it was 90 degrees out?” I did, but this Fashionista pairs her jeans with black sandals that keep her feet cool in the warm weather, while her legs are protected from the AC indoors; a choice I often make when dressing for New England weather. To finish her monochromatic look, she carries a black backpack when going to classes.

The one thing I did not yet note was the white earbuds she walks around campus with. I thought these were an interesting pop from the monochromatic look that stood out against the lace top. Earbuds are a good way to get away from the noise of a college campus.

How To: The key to obtaining this look is the black lace top. This centers the whole outfit and gives a good base on where to go next. This Fashionista paired black sandals and dark washed jeans for a monochromatic feel that looks good in any color. To finish off the look, she wears white earbuds and sunglasses as simple, yet interesting accessories. To change this look up a bit, try a light wash jean with a light blue lace top!
