ALL IN THE DETAILS: Easily PerSUEDEd

Fall has finally hit the Midwest. I have to say this is one of the most beautiful times of the year. The leaves on campus are changing into their beautiful shades of red, orange and yellow, but the best part is all of the fall trends. Each year we see our fair share of oversized sweaters and warm scarves, but this season’s trend has everyone talking, and that trend is suede.

This fall, you can see anything from suede skirts, boots, bags and even dresses, just like the one worn by this Fashionista. Even though new trends can sometimes be a little intimidating, that is not the case when it comes to suede. I like to think of suede as leather with a twist. Similar to leather, suede is easy to incorporate into any wardrobe because it looks great with either bold prints or soft neutrals.

This Fashionista effortlessly paired her neutral suede dress with a simple pair of riding boots. Since this dress does not have much detail, it is easy to dress up the overall look with accessories. She added a pair of knit lace socks, which is a subtle way of adding texture to the look without taking any attention away from the dress itself. As for jewelry, her bold, gold details glammed up the dress without overwhelming the whole outfit. However, this outfit would not be complete without a felt hat to tie all the colors together. With a simple suede piece, such as this dress, the possibilities are endless when it comes to styling it.

How To: Whether you love dresses, skirts, purses or shoes, all you need to pull off this fall trend is one simple suede piece. Just pair it with another patterned piece or dress it up with various types of jewelry and in no time you will be ready for whatever plans come your way.
