Spring is the season of fashion on High Point University’s campus. As the weather heats up, so do the clothing choices. Bright colors and small details are more prominent as Fashionistas dust off their spring wardrobe. Students are itching to get outside and enjoy the sunshine, but are usually stuck in class. When you can’t be outside, why not be your own bright light by wearing bold colors and patterns?
This Fashionista caught my eye because of all the bright details in her look. Every part of her outfit features a bright color, starting with the pastel blue dress. It’s simple, but works well with her floral kimono. The kimono is perfect because it’s a statement piece and adds interest using a fun spring pattern while really pulling all the pieces together. However, my favorite part of this outfit has to be the pink heels. Wearing heels is always a good idea, especially if you want to make a statement.
Another small, but important, detail of this look is this Fashionista’s lip color. This is one of the first things people notice when having a conversation, so why not make it pop? She even went the extra step and matched her lip color to her shoes. It’s a detail not many think of, but it makes all the difference.
Sometimes the smallest details are the most important. These details change up a staple piece. Not to mention the fact that they’re cheaper to buy than a whole new outfit!
How To: Though this outfit looks intricate, you can easy recreate it by pairing any solid color dress with a colorful kimono or sweater. It’s really all about the balance between simple solids and crazy patterns. Add your favorite heels and you’re ready to go!
